Guidelines

Editorial suggestions will be made to your manuscript via track changes and comment bubbles if submitted electronically (DOC and DOCX are both accepted) or on a hardcopy printout of the manuscript itself. Pricing is based on a double-spaced manuscript with 1-inch margins, using Times New Roman size 12 font and industry standard formatting for chapter headers, paragraphs, and dialogue. (Details in the Q&A section and on the Contact page.)

Edits are made in one round, which will take up to two weeks to complete, depending on the length of the project. I am happy to clarify any points of confusion or offer feedback if you want to bounce ideas my way, but request that you take the time to consider the feedback for one week, then send a list of all questions at one time. This is the final step of the critiquing process – I cannot offer a second read after revisions have been made unless you are willing to pay an additional reading fee.

Submission Guidelines

Interested in scheduling a critique? EMAIL ME the details of your project and I will get back with you to choose a date for submission. Please include:

  • approximate page count – double-spaced, 1-inch margins, Times New Roman size 12 font

Formatting

For submission and estimating a correct page count, your manuscript should be formatted as follows:

  • double-spaced
  • 1-inch margins
  • Times New Roman font – size 12
  • chapter headers beginning on a new page, 1/3 of the way down
  • regular paragraph structure – drop new paragraphs to the next line and indent the length of one ‘tab’ space
  • regular dialogue structure – drop down to a new line for each speaker, use quotation marks before and after the spoken lines
  • consecutive page numbers
