Brussels Airlines Interline Agreements

Brussels Airlines cancelled the airDC project due to disagreements with Hewa Bora. The new partnership between the airlines will allow passengers travelling from Brussels Airlines` network with 73 European destinations and 21 intercontinental destinations to book a single ticket for one of the 9 African destinations served by AWA, including attractive fares and a single intercontinental package during the different stages of their journey. Brussels Airlines and Africa World Airlines (AWA), headquartered in Accra, have signed an interline agreement to offer more travel opportunities for passengers. At the official signing of the agreement today in Accra, Ghanaian Aviation Minister Joseph Kofi Adda, a witness to the agreement, congratulated the two airlines on the agreement and expressed confidence that it would help ensure a smooth travel experience for passengers. On March 22, 2016, members of the terrorist organization ISIL detonated two bombs at Brussels airport and closed the airport until Sunday, March 27, 2016. Brussels Airlines has deployed a few long-haul flights to Zurich and Frankfurt and has started the Airbus A319/Avro RJ100 shuttle service between Liège/Antwerp and Zurich/Frankfurt, as well as contractual bus connections between Brussels and Antwerp and Liège, from where European destinations have been served. [16] On European flights, the airline offers four types of tickets: in December 2019, Brussels Airlines and Aeroflot Russian Airlines announced a codeshare agreement that entered into force on 20 January 2020 between Moscow-Sheremetievo and Brussels.
